Overview

This aerodynamic and beautiful two-seater roadster was a huge leap forward from the T-type Midgets. With twin-carburettor B-series engine, independent front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, the differences were night and day. Initially offered with the 1489cc, four cylinder, B-Series ohv engine with 68bhp, but uprated to MGA 1600 specification in May 1959. Lockheed front discs made their first appearance with the larger 80bhp engine, significantly improving braking. Revered today and valued significantly ahead of the MGB.
